Gardens. The complex is divided into three sections: an art gallery, boutique
and workshop. Surrounded by lots of tropical greenery, it is one of Penang’s
well known sightseeing spots and offers a wide variety of quality batik, from

Penang Butterfly Farm
Opened in 1986, the Penang Butterfly Farm –
located in Teluk Bahang – is one of Penang’s best known and most popular
tourist attractions. The eight-hectare butterfly sanctuary houses an
impressively varied collection of butterfly species as well as an assortment of
other insects. The farm sits at the foot of the Teluk Bahang hills – between
the Taman Rimba Park and Teluk Bahang village. It features more than 4,000
butterflies from more than 120 groups as well as other insects and reptiles.
Penang Butterfly Farm History David Goh, the
owner, founded the farm to introduce and promote entomology – the study of
insects – to the Malaysian public. In order to safeguard the various species of
butterflies on the island, this conservation centre is dedicated to protecting
them and their habitat. Though most people know the Penang Butterfly Farm to be
a tourist attraction, this butterfly ‘safe haven’ has gained an international
reputation within the industry. Its other functions include increasing
awareness on conservation issues pertaining to the rainforest and butterfly
habitats.

Accommodation
Hotels in Batu Ferringhi are ultra popular
with visitors looking to stay close to Penang’s beachside action, especially on
the weekends when day-trippers visit. Stretching all the way from Teluk Bahang,
running the span along the coast of Jalan Batu Ferringhi, a lot of four and
five star hotels front the seaside, leaving few seafront coves open and easily
accessible to the public. However, it is the hotel seafront strips that are
utterly divine, with powder white sandy stretches that are litter-free and
waters that just seem so much bluer, making them heavenly for sunbathing.
Shaded by lots of palm trees, it is one of the island’s most popular
destinations, and given the especially reasonable room rack rates offered, Batu
Ferringhi hotels book up pretty fast, especially on the weekend. If the beach
is not much of a lure to you, then the strip’s daily night market should do the
trick, offering standard souvenirs for purchase, as well as cool tricked out
stuff like pop art and bejewelled headbands and more. For the best hotel deals
in Batu Ferringhi, check out the ones listed below – we are sure you will find
some great options to suit both your style and budget preference.
By Taxi
Your best option to get to and from Batu Feringgi to Georgetown
and back is by taxi. Buses are infrequent and it's just too far and too hot to
cycle.
