It has beaches, exotic islands, lush virgin tropical jungles, quaint fishing villages, dazzling waterfalls and much, much more. Miles and miles of white, sandy beaches and crystal clear waters stretch the length of its coastline

Another place that should be on every visitor's itinerary is Rantau Abang, 60km south of Kuala Terengganu. There, visitors can lie quietly in wait from midnight to dawn to watch giant

These giant turtles grow up to 2.5m long and sometimes weigh more than 375kg. Rantau Abang is one of only six places in the world visited by these turtles, from the months of May to September.

These turtles and their eggs are also protected. Their eggs are located and replanted by scientists in incubator centres where controlled conditions can influence the sex of young turtles, helping the species survive.

By Car:
From Kuantan, drive north for about 2 hours, passing through the oil town of Kerteh, Paka and Dungun. From Dungun town, head further north for another 5 minutes. You should be passing over the Dungun river bridge. After the bridge, passing by the exit to Teluk Bidara recreational beach, you will see a curve on the road and giant rock boulders which marks the beginning of Rantau Abang beaches on your right.

 By Bus:
 Buy a bus ticket at Hentian Putra Bus Station, Kuala Lumpur to Dungun, Terengganu.

 By Air
 There are flights Kuala Terengganu by Malaysia Airlines. From the airport, grab a taxi to Rantau Abang.

到登嘉楼不可错过的景点，便是每年五月到九月间于登嘉楼南边兰道阿邦（Rantau Abang）的海龟产卵奇景。在这段期间，旅客可从午夜时分静待至黎明，旁观海龟产卵的景观。这些海龟有些重达375公斤，据说此地是全世界六个海龟造访地之一。

这里温暖的沙滩被认为是巨龟最适合的筑巢之，兰道安邦是世界上少数几个海龟可以生存的地。建议你到兰道安邦的旅客服务中心看一看，有关海龟的生长、筑巢的记录长片，每隔一段时间就会固定地播放。为要保护海龟的生存，在这里成立了海龟禁猎区，除了有执照的龟蛋收集者之外，一律禁止人们搜集或食用龟蛋。
 
生海龟产卵的高峰时节，数以千万计的海龟在夜色中浮出海面，在沙滩上寻找最适合的产卵地点。在兰道阿邦产卵的海龟以杨桃龟居多，通常成年杨桃龟身长超过2.5米，有的体重超过375公斤。
